A Forest School provides children with a safe, supportive environment where they can explore the natural world at their own pace. At the heart of our approach is building meaningful, trusting relationships while nurturing each child's natural sense of wonder for nature and the cultures that surround them.

Through hands-on outdoor experiences, children develop confidence, resilience, creativity, and independence while forming a deep connection with the environment. Forest School encourages holistic development by allowing children to learn through exploration, play, and real-life experiences.

Our trilingual environment (English, Spanish, and Basque) allows children to move naturally between languages with confidence. At La Cabaña, language learning is immersive, intentional, and woven into everyday life. Children are gently supported in developing their Spanish and gaining exposure to Basque through meaningful interactions, shared experiences, and daily communication with educators and local children.

Stories, nature exploration, games, and creative activities help children expand their vocabulary, strengthen comprehension, and build the confidence to express themselves in new languages.

Local Community Project

Beyond the forest, each summer we take part in a local community project where children can make a meaningful contribution to their surroundings. Last summer, we partnered with Uliako Lore Baratza to restore its community library by cleaning and organizing the space, repairing books, and running a book donation campaign. Through projects like these—and by collaborating with local children and families—we foster values such as cooperation, responsibility, empathy, and care for both shared spaces and the people who use them.
